University schedule through-out the week English for Artists The language skill needs of an artist are multifaceted: Useful travel English for art promotion, production, and research. Incorporating English within our work as a gesture of internationalism and to help expand our audiences beyond our own culture. English as a tool to articulate our aesthetic issues for personal clarification and to share these perfected ideals with others internationally. English as an opportunity for friendship and fun with others from overseas. The goals and methodology of this class: By providing a relax but consistent learning environment dedicated to communicative language skills. It is the focus of this class to create a positive 'Living English' art experience each class. Art students have a unique predisposition for communicative subtlties. We attempt to exploit this gift by introducing English via: existing art, such as International video, music, and internet graphics. communicating our personal artistic vision in English. interacting with manageable English resources and doing activities that blend art with English. maintaining a positive playful environment with English as our primary communicative core. What is needed for success in this class? Students will need to arrive on time for each class, with writing and drawing implements. An electronic dictionary is extremely useful. All students will be given assignments in a variety of media that they will need to complete on time and to the best of their ability. Participating in class is essential.
