The basic trait... the main feature of this thought I - this self-thought - is the claim... This belongs to me.
Thats the first thing the I does: Mine, yours, my space, your space, my truth, your truth, my feelings, your feelings
Thats the first thing the I does.
It is possessive.
It wants to have the state.
It doesnt just want to feel the feeling
it wants to have it too: My feeling.
Thats the first thing the I does.
It turns everything into a possession:
My world.
My child.
My husband.
My wife.
My friend.
And it does it all on automatic.

And at the same time the I is the one that wants to stop itself from doing all that.
A very strange summersault of the I,
this wanting to do away with itself.
Hey man, the most far out thing in this universe is:
I have undone myself!
I have transcended myself!
I am in the know!
Ive got it!
I have got it!
That is the reason, the real reason, that some are saying there is nothing to be done
You can think better
holier
more spiritual
more intelligent
all of that
and it is good to do so.
But at some point youll discover its only thoughts.
And the I loses its fascination for you.
And youre not doing so much anymore.

Youre hardly possessive if at all.
For what do you need to possess?
If everything is already here
what needs to belong to you?
If everything you need is here already
you dont need any belongings.
Life is present.
Feelings are present.
The body is present.
Others are present.
There is enough air.
Nobody here is so poor
that they have nothing to eat.
You have a roof over your head.
Everything is present.

Everything is present.
So what you cannot do is to make yourself disappear.
But instead of being so preoccupied with your self you could concern yourself with everything thats also here:
The air. Love. Gravity.
Feelings and emotions. The rush of blood in your veins.
The energies all around.
All of that.
The only thing is,
You cant possess it!
But you can dance with it!
You cannot reach the silence
this inner peace
by something that you do.
