Gradually I am acclimated back into the working schedule and try and find moderation in my eating. I still feel a need for caffeine and a desire for energy stimulants at work, and now am trying to find alternatives. The best solution may be the hardest initially... water, both for drinking and swimming.
Water can help me detox the summer indulgences and reestablish routines where I am in more control and not bullied by my biological impulses. I have discovered though, one reason I do not like dieting is its unsocial side. In my present environment I have no friends where I swim. I do not need to remind people how much eating and drinking plays into most places of social interaction. Bars, coffee shops, parties, restaurants, amusement parks, shopping area, etc. are tough environments for dieters. Finding new friends yet managing a diet has been hard for me considering my time constraints as a single parent. But I will work it out, I have to.
These are all the small challenges in adjusting into a dieter's lifestyle, making exercise and moderation habitual. The day by day work needed to defeat any negative habitual behavior needs to get done, with consistency and persistence.
